Membership
Membership Update, October 2010
Dear Colleagues,
In the past, as a member of Three Rivers Chapter of NAPNAP, your local chapter
dues were supplemented by our treasury to pay for your membership in the Pennsylvania
Coalition of Nurse Practitioners (PCNP). The PCNP has been instrumental in lobbying
for nurse practitioners at the state and national levels. Since the institution
of the One United Voice initiative of national NAPNAP, the membership fee structure
has changed and does not include membership to PCNP. Because you were a member
of Three Rivers NAPNAP in 2009-2010, you are considered a member of PCNP. The
membership structure for PCNP has also changed and must be paid by individuals
online at PCNP’s website. Your current PCNP membership will expire on
10/31/2010. PCNP has permitted a 30-day grace period for you to renew your membership.
Three Rivers NAPNAP has always supported the PCNP and continues to do so; however,
now it will be your responsibility to renew your membership. We strongly encourage
all of our members to join this very important state advocacy group. We will
continue to support PCNP as a board and support legislative issues for children
and their families in Pennsylvania. PCNP has provided a link for membership
renewals on their website. Once you join, please choose 3 Rivers NAPNAP as the
regional group. You can access the link by going to www.pacnp.org and clicking
on the “Renew your membership” link on the right side of the page.
Membership is currently $100. Membership for students and retirees is $50. If
your membership expires, you may join PCNP at any time.
Thank you for your continued patience during this time of transition.
Sincerely,
Jane Miller, CRNP

General Membership Information
The Three Rivers Chapter of NAPNAP would like to invite you to consider becoming
a member of your Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) group. Membership is a wonderful
way to network with your fellow nurse practitioners, as well as attending continuing
education events sponsored by our local chapter. Three Rivers Chapter of NAPNAP
provides educational opportunities throughout the year - details of dates and
times can be found under the Calendar page on our website.
NAPNAP redesigned its membership dues structure with the NAPNAP: One United
Voice Program effective July 1, 2009. The unification of national and local
NAPNAP connects both national members and local members in order to promote
our strong united voice advocating for children and nurse practitioners.
Beginning this year, the National Association of Pediatric Nurse and Associate Practitioners is requiring the alignment of local chapters with the national organization. As a result, our dues have increased to allow for allocation of funds to the legislative arena. The representation of PNPs in legislation has been pivotal in the advancement of the PNP role in Pennsylvania. This contributes greatly to the progression of our profession and positively impacts our work on a daily basis.
As of July 1, 2009, chapter membership dues will no longer be collected by your local Three Rivers Chapter but included in dues to the national organization. Your current chapter membership cycle ends on October 31, 2009.
As a member of the national NAPNAP, you will receive a reduced fee for the national conference and a subscription to The Journal of Pediatric Health Care. By selecting the Three Rivers Chapter as your local chapter, you will receive reduced rates for all of the chapter sponsored educational seminars and to the annual symposium. You will also receive the yearly chapter directory that includes contact information for all of the chapter members. To learn more about our chapter, please refer to our website at www.3riversnapnap.org.
To join NAPNAP, Click Here to link to NAPNAP.org. To affiliate with Three Rivers Chapter, simply indicate our chapter on your NAPNAP membership application.
Your membership fee will be a wise investment; one that will pay off through professional development and through many other services available to you only with membership.
Should you have any questions or need any assistance, please e-mail to membership@3riversnapnap.org Thank you in advance for joining Three Rivers Chapter of NAPNAP!
Sincerely,
